Oren Zukierkorn, President of the Herzl Center in Jerusalem, visited Budapest, where he met with Prof. Dr. Andor Grósz, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary (Mazsihisz). The meeting was also attended by András Büchler, a member of the Mazsihisz leadership, who moderated the discussion.

During the friendly and constructive exchange of ideas, the parties reviewed the operations of historical Zionist organizations in Hungary, as well as the challenges facing the World Zionist Organization (WZO). The conversation also touched upon the mission and role of the Herzl Center, which is dedicated to preserving and passing on the ideals of Zionism.

Andor Grósz highlighted the active engagement and community-building efforts of Hungarian youth movements, which Oren Zukierkorn greatly appreciated. Both leaders emphasized that the future lies in the hands of the younger generation and that it is crucial to equip them with knowledge, responsibility, and leadership skills. A strong community is built upon dedicated and well-prepared young individuals who can carry forward traditions and shape the future.

The parties agreed that continuing the dialogue is essential, and a follow-up meeting will be held in Jerusalem soon. The visit reinforced the importance of cooperation between the Hungarian and Israeli Jewish communities and their commitment to achieving shared goals.
